Ida Mae Harvey Rousselle entered into eternal rest surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, February 16, 2014. She was 91 years young. Daughter of the late Josephine Ingolia Harvey and Terrance Harvey. Beloved and devoted wife of the late Leo Wilfred Rousselle. Devoted mother to Francis (Chispa) and his wife Susie, Leo William, Mary Ann Constance and her husband Andrew, Gerard Robert and his wife Judy, John Paul and his wife Diane, Regina Hagan and her husband Gary, James Gerard and Christopher Gerard. As well as grandchildren Suzanne Rousselle, Stephanie Krista, Danny Rousselle, Jennifer Rockvoan, Anthony Sauro, Gina Marie Constance, Ashley Salisbury, Lindsey Rousselle, Dana Rousselle and Matthew Rousselle as well as 7 great grandchildren and 7 step great grandchildren. She is also survived by a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Throughout the years and up until her death she was very active in numerous organizations especially, Holy Cross High School, but most recently a member of St. Francis Xavier Bon Temps, St. Catherine of Siena Youthful Elders, Golden Age of Metairie, and Our Lady of Mercy Alumni. Because of her love of music and zest for life she would never turn down the chance to sing her rendition of “Bill Bailey”. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. (in Metairie Cemetery) on Thursday, February 20, 2026 at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park & Mausoleum. Visitation on Thursday from 11:30 am until service time. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate Masses or donations to the National Shrine of Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos, 919 Josephine St., N.O.,LA 70130.
