Billy Jackson
Beaumont Resident To Receive Toastmasters
Communication Achievement Award
50 Years In Toastmasters!
Beaumont, TX—Billy Jackson (right) was honored by the Golden Triangle Toastmasters (GTTM) club of Beaumont/Port Arthur for his achievement of Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM). The event was held on Monday, January 27 at 6:30p.m. in the Cherry Engineering Bldg. at Lamar University in Beaumont.
“If you have goals you want to achieve, Toastmasters gives you an advantage [to reach those goals],” says Jackson.
This is Jackson’s third time to achieve DTM (the highest recognition a member may receive). He joined Toastmasters on April 1, 2026 as a charter member of Seminole Toastmasters Club in Tallahassee, FL. Except for one year, he has been a member since. He has served several clubs and districts of Toastmasters as an officer. Today, he is a member of three clubs in Beaumont: Golden Triangle Toastmasters Club, Great Speakers Unlimited Toastmasters Club, and Lamar Toastmasters Club. He is also assisting in organizing a club at a local refinery.
Jackson says, “I stay in Toastmasters because of what it means to me personally and in my career, and the quality of the people
with whom I associate in the organization, as well as, the challenges of day to day participation.” He says he promotes the organization wherever he goes as the best gift men and women can give themselves as they aspire to be better communicators and leaders.
“Billy Jackson is a very dedicated man and believes in the power of leadership. He has worked very hard in accomplishing his toastmaster goals, and receiving3 DTM awards is a great honor. Billy has helped lead his home club (GTTM) and others to higher achievements, and training. He participates where ever is needed and encourages all to do the same. He is instrumental in keeping clubs strong and starting new ones,” says Jennifer M. Lofton, Club President for GTTM and Area Governor for District 68.
