Speaking of “emails, emails, emails!” My sincerest apologies. I left two important items off my last message. (Don’t tell anyone, but I secretly do this so that Mohamad and Joel will have material for my roast at year end.)
Australian Voice Teacher gives a lesson on Australian Accent at Tri-Parish Toastmasters in Gray on January 31st and at Tangi Toastmasters in Hammond on February 2, 2017… Jennifer Innes, Voice Lecturer at Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne, will teach an Australian accent at the Tangi Toastmasters at the Terrebonne Parish Library, North Branch, at 4130 West Park Avenue, Gray LA on Tuesday, January 31st from 6:15 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and at the Hammond Library on 314 E. Thomas St. in Hammond on Thursday, February 2nd at 6 p.m. All guests are welcome to attend the lecture. This is a great opportunity for guests to observe and participate in a Toastmaster meeting. Toastmasters is an organization that facilitates the development of public speaking and leadership skills.
Jennifer Innes, an Actor, Director, and Voice & Dialect Coach for theatre companies in Victoria, is passionate about storytelling and the empowerment of actors through embodied and joyful voice exploration informed by the Alexander Technique and Patsy Rodenburg among others, as well as her years of work as an actor.
This event is made possible in part by a Membership Engagement grant from the Voice and Speech Trainers Association. On February 5th, Jennifer Innes will teach an all-day Global and Local Accents workshop with Artemis Preeshl, Certified Associate Fitzmaurice Voicework Teacher (New Orleans), and Robin Aronson, Certified Lessac Kinesensic Voice and Body Trainer (Hattiesburg) at NOLA Spaces at 1719 Toledano Street, New Orleans from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The regular registration fee is $35. Talk Up Toastmasters! Club Membership Contest, February 1 – March 31… During the “Talk Up Toastmasters” membership contest, you can encourage your members to invite guests to a special meeting where regular procedures are augmented by a discussion of Toastmasters’ many benefits.
