I am Tammy Freeman ACG, ALB.
I never knew where my Toastmasters journey was going to take me when I signed the membership application on March 1, 2014. I thought I was just signing up to give a few speeches.
Within weeks, I was competing in an evaluation contest that took me all the way to the District competition. Before I knew it, I was serving my club as the VP of membership. I served the following year as Treasurer. This year I have enjoyed serving as the president of Downtown Toastmasters.
I was selected to serve as the area 8 director this year and have thoroughly enjoyed that role. It shined a light on what Toastmasters is about. I learned even more when I attended the panel discussion with the International board. I became active on the prison club committee and have had the pleasure of visiting several prison clubs this year. I have assisted in TLIs, many contests and mentoring members. I had a great experience conducting a Youth Leadership Program and hope to mentor others in conducting a YLP.
I have learned a lot and look forward to sharing my knowledge and experience with others. I am ready to step up to the next level in Toastmasters.
Outside of Toastmasters, I have been actively involved in volunteer roles for over 20 years. I have served as president of the Parent Child Association and BREC liaison, PTO president, safety council representative, soccer coach for 19 years (9 of those as a volunteer high school coach), referee mentor and many more.
I appreciate the nomination of Division B director and look forward to serving the members of District 68.
